SAMHSA National Wellness Campaign:
The Wellness of People with Mental Health Problems
The SAMHSA National Wellness Campaign promotes the importance of addressing all parts of a person's life in hopes of increasing life expectancy for people with mental health and substance use disorders.
The following new resources have been posted by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA):
http://promoteacceptance.samhsa.gov/10by10/PDF/PSA_8Dimensions.pdf - This is a ready-to-print letter size poster displaying the Eight Dimensions of Wellness as a simple graphic. The dimensions are named, but there is no explanatory text. It is a smaller and simpler alternative to the larger Eight Dimensions of Wellness poster, which many of us display in our public areas.
http://promoteacceptance.samhsa.gov/10by10/PDF/8pageGuide.pdf – An 8 page document, primarily aimed at helping provider organizations take steps to focus on wellness. Potentially helpful sections include Talking with Community Media Outlets, Collaborating with Public Opinion Leaders, and Planning Wellness Events and Activities.
http://promoteacceptance.samhsa.gov/10by10/PDF/Facts_PersonsInRecovery.pdf – A good, solid 2 side flier about 8 dimension wellness, including some links & citations.
